هدف البحث الحالي إلى قياس العلاقة ما بين اعتماد طلبة الجامعات على وسائل الإعلام الجديد في استقاء المعلومات والأخبار عن جائحة کورونا واندماجهم الأکاديمي، وهي دراسة وصفية جرى تطبيقها باستخدام منهج المسح على عينة عشوائية من طلبة الجامعات الحکومية والخاصة والأزهرية قوامها (450) طالبًا وطالبة، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى: أن نسبة 99.3% من عينة البحث تابعوا جائحة کورونا عبر وسائل الإعلام الجديد، وجاءت مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في مقدمة الوسائل التي استقوا منها معلوماتهم عنها، کما ثبت وجود علاقة ارتباطية عکسية دالة إحصائيًا بين اعتماد طلبة الجامعات على وسائل الإعلام الجديد في استقاء المعلومات والأخبار عن جائحة کورونا کوفيد 19 والاندماج الأکاديمي لديهم، کما ثبت وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا في درجة متابعة جائحة کورونا عبر وسائل الإعلام الجديد لصالح الذکور، ولصالح طلبة الکليات النظرية والجامعات الحکومية، في حين لم يثبت وجود فروق بينهم في الاندماج الأکاديمي، وفي المجمل کان مستوى الاندماج الأکاديمي لطلبة الجامعات في ظل جائحة کورونا منخفضًا وفقًا لنتائج البحث.
 
University students dependence on the New Media to getting Information and News about the Corona «COVID 19» Pandemic and its Relationship to their Academic Engagement
 
The research aimed to measure the relationship between the dependence of university students on new media in obtaining information and news  about Corona pandemic and their academic Engagement It is a descriptive study that was applied using the survey method on a random sample of government, private, and Azhar university students of (450) male and female students, and The study found: that 99.3% of the research sample followed the Corona pandemic through the new media, and social networking sites came at the forefront of the means from which they obtained their information about them, There was also a statistically significant inverse correlation between university students dependence on the New Media to getting Information and News about the Corona «COVID 19» Pandemic and its Relationship to their Academic Engagement, There were also statistically significant differences in the degree of follow-up to the Corona pandemic through the new media in favor of males, and for the benefit of students of theoretical colleges and government universities, while there was no evidence of differences between them in academic engagement, Overall the level of academic engagement of university students under the Corona pandemic was low, according to the results of the research
