هدفت الدراسة إلى رصد وتحليل وتفسير دور شبکات التواصل الاجتماعي في تشکيل اتجاهات الشباب المصري نحو مجلس الشيوخ والمرشحين لعضويته.
وتندرج الدراسة الحالية ضمن الدراسات الوصفية، واعتمدت الدراسة على نموذج تشکيل الاتجاهات. واستندت إلي منهج المسح الإعلامي. وتم الاستعانة بأداة الاستبيان لجمع البيانات من عينةٍ متاحةٍ من الشباب المصري بلغت 420 مبحوثًا.
وتوصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج لعل من أبرزها.
جاء موقع الفيس بوک في الترتيب الأول کأکثر المواقع التي تحرص عينة الدراسة على متابعته. وتستقي منه المعلومات السياسية عن انتخابات مجلس الشيوخ المصري لعام 2020م.
کانت اتجاهات أفراد عينة الدراسة إيجابية نحو المجلس وسلبية نحو المرشحين لعضويته. وقد أوصى الباحث بأن تسعى الحکومة المصرية إلى استثمار هذه المواقع لتشجيع الشباب المصري للمشارکة بإيجابية في الاستحقاقات الانتخابية المختلفة في المستقبل. 
 
The role of web social media networking in forming attitudes of the Egyptian youth toward senate and it's candidates. A survey study
 
The present study aimed to monitor. analyze  and interpret. the role of web social media networking in forming the attitudes of the Egyptian youth towards the Senate and it's candidates. The study was based on the attitude formation model. The survey method. the questionnaire as a tool of collecting data from an available sample of the Egyptian youth. (Male – Female). totally (420) respondents.
The most important results of the study are:
. The Facebook site come in the first grade of all social web sites as a main source of political information about the elections for the sample.
. The attitudes of the Egyptian youth was positive towards the council and was negative towards their candidates.  
. The researcher recommend that the Egyptian government should  invest social web networking to encourage the youth to participate positively in all elections in the future
