Abstract

This study seeks to identify the degree of exposure of university youth to Bahraini news websites and their relationship to the mood dominating them towards Trump's announcement of the American peace plan, known in the media as the "deal of the century."
This study is based on the methodology of the media survey on the public, where a simple random sample of 215 respondents was drawn from Bahraini university students at the Universities of Bahrain (governmental) and the Gulf University (private). This study relied on the theory of affective contagion as a theoretical framework for it.
The results of the study concluded that the opposing attitude towards the American peace plan by Bahraini university youth increased by 70%, and 77% believe that this plan is nothing but the deal of the century and American intervention in the region in favor of Israel, as it is evident that a negative mood prevails among the respondents. Where the arithmetic means of the expressions of very negative mood increased, estimated at 66.25, and the rates of strong approval of the expressions of Semantic asymmetry that carry a negative and unhappy mood due to Trump's announcement of this plan increased.
