The role of television advertising campaigns in raising awareness of health crises to the Egyptian Public(A Field study)

Abstract

The importance of this research lies in the fact that it deals with health awareness, which presents itself with urgency in recent times with the vast and extensive spread of endemic diseases that Egypt is trying hard to eradicate. Especially concerning viral infections, and to provide some indications about health trends for media campaigns and their role as a source of health information for the public.
This study falls within the descriptive research in which the researcher relied on the survey method, using the web questionnaire to obtain the study results through a simple random sample of (400) individuals. The study concluded:
1- Most of the study sample، 87.8%، indicated that they watch Egyptian satellite channels. In comparison, 12.2% indicated that they do not prefer watching Egyptian satellite channels and rely on other sources that provide them with information.
2- The health campaigns followed by the public varied, but the national campaign to vaccinate against the Coronavirus came in the first place with 89.8%, followed by the national movement to eliminate endemic diseases with 75.3%. In addition, in the third-place came the 100 million-health campaign to stop Hepatitis C with a percentage of 25.1%, followed by the President's initiative to eliminate waiting lists with 12.4%, and in the last place came the National Campaign for Early Detection of Obesity and Stunting with 3.2%.
