Attitudes of Egyptian youth towards YouTube channels addressing domestic violence crimes- A field study

Abstract

The issue of domestic violence crimes is one of the important topics because of the contradiction that it carries between the affection and tenderness of members of the same family towards each other and the harm that violent crimes inflict on people who are supposed to be given love and care, especially since the impact of violence within the family is not limited to the perpetrator. Not only the victim, but the whole family. Family crimes have multiplied and varied according to the diversity of the criminal phenomenon within the family and vary according to different social conditions and developments in life. These crimes constitute most crimes committed in our society, and the consequences of committing such crimes are more serious than the consequences of many It is another crime that is punishable by many laws in other countries with penalties up to the death penalty.
Research Objectives: Identifying the attitudes of Egyptian youth towards the treatment of domestic violence crimes by YouTube channels. The research was divided into a theoretical framework and included: previous studies, the motives behind domestic violence, domestic violence crimes, and ways to prevent domestic crime. Then the field framework (applied) and includes: Method and sample of the research: The researcher followed the survey method, through a sample survey of several university youth through a regular random sample of 214 individuals, ranging in age from 18-21 years and residing in the governorates of Kafr El-Sheikh and Cairo. Research tools: The researcher relied on the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data and information. Then the results of the questionnaire were analyzed and discussed. Some of the most important results were reached:
1- By revealing the relationship between gender and the number of perpetrators of domestic violence crimes from the point of view of the sample members, it became clear through KA2 = 5.1 x that there is no relationship between gender and the most frequent perpetrators of domestic violence crimes.
2- There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of males and females in the attitudes of university youth towards crimes of domestic violence in favor of males, where the value of (T) is significant at the level of 0.001.
3- There is a moderate direct relationship between the follow-up of YouTube channels and the attitudes of university youth towards crimes of domestic violence, where the value of (t > 0.3), which is a function at the level of significance 0.01. more positive.
