The Role of Arabic-Language news channels in shaping Iraqi youth's attitudes towards Middle east issues

Abstract

The study was conducted by the study on a group of research studies in research studies, applying a sample of young people, by applying to a sample of research studies in the State of Iraq from the governorates of Baghdad and Diyala, in the period from (1/5/2022 AD - 31/5/2022). m) The questionnaire sheet is used.
Results
- The most important Arabic-language satellite news channels that the respondents watch, came in the first order of these channels, "BBC channel", and came in the second order of these channels, "Russia Today Channel", and came in the third place of these channels, "CNN America", And in the fourth place of these channels was "Sky News Arabia".
- The most important Middle Eastern issues that the respondents followed on Arabic-language satellite channels came “the Russian-Ukrainian war and its repercussions on the Middle East”, then “the terrorist organization ISIS and its repercussions on Iraq” with a rate of 28.5%, then “the deal of the century”.
- The respondents’ attitudes towards the role of Arabic-directed channels in media coverage of (Middle East issues) came in the first order “The Deal of the Century comes among the attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause through the peace plans announced by US President Donald Trump, followed by” falling into the generalization error in Dealing with various terrorist incidents" and then "media coverage of the channels directed at the war in Ukraine, lacks objectivity and balance."
