PUBLIC MOOD MANAGEMENT TO CANCER PATIENT FOLLOW THE SOCIAL SITES : facebook is a model- Field Study

Abstract

This study aims to clarify and identify the extent to which cancer patients follow social media sites and their effects on their moods. It also depends on the survey method of the public by social media and takes a specific sample consisting of (400) cancer patients. The theory of public mood management is applied as a theoretical framework for this study.
Then the results summarized that there is a statistically significant correlation between the respondents who follow social networking sites such as Facebook and their dominant moods.
Therefore, the respondents’ moods are positive by 84.6% and their culture of social network sites (Facebook) raises by 68.5%. Instead of suffering from cancer, around 95.5% are satisfied with their lives.
Social networking sites (Facebook) are considered one of the important factors in improving the respondents’ moods.
There is a statistically significant correlation between the motives of respondents and their expected satisfaction with dealing with the groups of cancer patients on Facebook.
There is also a statistically significant relationship between the respondents ‘motives for dealing the cancer patients on Facebook and the expected satisfaction because of the available demographic variables and also the respondents’ confidence in the information that these groups have presented on Facebook.

As well there are some effective differences in evaluating the patients’ moods on Facebook due to some demographic features such as kind, age, and social economic level, but there is any difference among the respondents in respect of their educational level.
