The credibility of social Media as a source of information about the Russian-Ukrainian war in Egyptian society "Field Study"

Abstract

This study aims to identify the credibility of social media as a source of information in times of crisis such as wars - the Russian-Ukrainian war as a model - and the criteria affecting that credibility from the viewpoint of the public in Egyptian society, given that the credibility of these sites and the news content they provide
This study was applied to a random sample of (400) individuals from the public in the cities of Alexandria and Damanhour.
-     It became clear from the results of this study that the variable of credibility in social media emanates a number of sub-variables, some of which are related to the sender, some to the recipient, and others to the means.
-     The results showed that the use of social media (Facebook, YouTube) by the study sample of respondents in the middle or higher education level category is high in their entirety, but the intermediate education level category is superior to the higher education level category in using the two applications.
