The role of social media channels in knowing the Saudis for tourism in the province of Rijal Almaa

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the role of social media channels in introducing Saudis to tourism in the province of Rijal Almaa, determine the most preferred platforms, and explore the daily time Saudis spend using them. It also examined the extent of daily use of Instagram and Snapchat, the benefits gained from these channels, and their effectiveness in promoting tourism in the province. Furthermore, the study aimed to propose strategies for enhancing the role of social media in promoting tourism awareness. The research was divided into three chapters: the first presented the theoretical literature, the second detailed the research procedures and methodology, and the third outlined the results and recommendations. Findings revealed that Snapchat was the most preferred platform among Saudis, followed by Instagram. Most respondents reported using social media channels for three hours or more daily, with Snapchat and Instagram being the most frequently used. Participants praised the effectiveness of these platforms in introducing tourism in Rijal Almaa, highlighting their role in increasing awareness of the province’s attractions. The study recommended enhancing the use of Snapchat and Instagram for marketing and promoting tourist sites in Rijal Almaa through engaging digital content that reflects its cultural and heritage value.
