University Youth Exposure to Egyptian Films and its Effect on their awareness of the Concept of Globalization and Cultural Identity- An Applied Study

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the relationship between the exposure of university youth to Egyptian films, and its impact on globalization, and cultural identity understanding, also to monitor the artistic tools of cinema to determine its impact on their perception of these concepts, measuring the focus of films on presenting globalization and cultural identity through a recent quantitative analysis of a sample of Egyptian films views on the negative, and positive content of it.
The study relied on the theory of cultural inculcation, as its theoretical framework, and the field study sample was 400 university youth individuals. The sample analytical study consists of six films: Wahid Tane, Waft Regala, Ali baba, Asl Eswd, and Ezaet Hob. It belonged to descriptive studies and relied on the comprehensive media survey curriculum based on the content analysis sheet, and data collection survey form.
The most important results of the study were:

Egyptian films impact youth's cultural identity due to their offered content, changing moral values, and providing the youth with role models, and behavioral patterns, that capture their interest.
The influence of ideas and behaviors presented in Egyptian films on ideas, behaviors, and convictions of the inclusive youth threatens society's fundamental values.
A statistically significant correlation between the intensity of youth university viewing Egyptian films.
A statistically significant correlation between the intensity of youth viewing Egyptian films, and its impact on their perception of globalization.
The impact of social, and economic levels on the perception of globalization.
The impact of age, and socioeconomic levels on understanding the concept of cultural identity.
