Addressing the Egyptian drama of divorce and the attitudes of Egyptian women towards it "A Field study"

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the Egyptian drama’s treatment of the phenomenon of divorce and Egyptian women’s attitudes towards it by applying it to an available sample of (600) females, in the period from (1/8/2023) to (31/8/2023 (
The most important results of the study:
- There was an increase in female respondents’ viewing of series on Egyptian satellite channels, as 75.4% of them are keen to follow these channels constantly, and 20.4% watch them sometimes, and in contrast, 4.2% of them do not watch them.
- The series (Divorced Women) came as the most important series that dealt with the phenomenon of divorce through the respondents’ viewing of the series.
- Infidelity came at the forefront of addressing the causes of the phenomenon of divorce in Egyptian TV series, then (marriage’s reliance on emotion rather than reason) came in second place, then (marriage for fear of spinsterhood) came in third place.
- At the forefront of the trends of the female respondents towards the Arab series’ treatment of the phenomenon of divorce were (the causes of marital disputes in the series are real reasons).
