Abstract

The problem of the study: determined in identifying the Egyptian public’s attitudes towards videos for low-income groups through the official pages of government institutions that implement the initiative to eliminate slums and their role in raising public awareness of that national initiative.

The objectives of the study: to identify the role of social media in educating the Egyptian public about the concept of national initiatives, in addition to determining the nature of the initiatives that are followed up by the Egyptian public through social media, and finally monitoring and interpreting the Egyptian public’s attitudes towards the videos of the initiative to eradicate slums through social media.
Methodology: This study relied on the survey method, which is the appropriate method to answer the questions of the study, as it is one of the most appropriate scientific approaches to descriptive studies that aim to study individuals and identify their views and what they think, and the researcher used this method to detect On the extent of the trend and the reflection of the contents of videos for low-income groups through social networking sites in educating citizens about the Egyptian national initiatives (the initiative to eradicate slums).
Study sample: A sample of the Egyptian public of social media users and followers of the Egyptian national initiatives through those sites consisted of 400 respondents representing different social and economic levels and educational groups.
Results: The interest of more than half of the study sample in following up on the videos of the initiative to eliminate slums on social networking sites, to a medium degree, at a rate of (52.3%), and this may be due to the multiplicity of media outlets that were interested in the initiative to eliminate slums, especially the initiative’s advertisements on television, and thus the multiplicity of sources On which the respondents depend to follow the videos of the initiative, and in the second place, by a large difference, the percentage of those who follow the videos of the initiative came to a large degree, with a rate of 35.5%).
