Attitudes of academics and educational media specialists towards employing the artificial intelligence program (ChatGPT) in scientific research and content production

Abstract

The study is considered a field study in light of the theory of the spread of innovations, and aims to monitor the attitudes of each of the academics in educational media departments towards employing the artificial intelligence program (ChatGPT) in scientific research, the production of content in educational media and the challenges of using the program, as well as the attitudes of educational media specialists in schools in producing content. In educational media, it was conducted on a random sample of 200 academics in the departments of educational media in colleges of specific education in Egyptian universities, and 100 specialists in educational media in Menoufia and Giza governorates, and a questionnaire was applied electronically to the sample of academics, and on paper. On a sample of specialists using the individual interview method, and focus groups, this research is descriptive and was conducted within the framework of the sample survey method.The most important results were:The percentage of respondents who knew the program (ChatGPT) reached 91.3%, distributed as academics came in first place with a percentage of 99.0, while specialists came in with a percentage of 91.3%, and the hypothesis was proven correct: There are statistically significant differences between the attitudes of each of the following: Academics and educational media specialists towards employing the program (ChatGPT) in producing educational media content.
