Abstract:
This study aimed to achieve a main goal، which is to know the role of digital technologies in developing program production on Egyptian television and its relationship with the communicator. The study was applied in light of the Media Richness theory، relying on the Survey Method in its field part، and using a questionnaire form. For a sample of respondents، “communicators” on Egyptian television from various categories، according to what was proven by the results of the exploratory study conducted by the researcher، in addition to a guide for in-depth interviews applied to a group of communicators، specifically those responsible in the program production departments of Egyptian television.
The study concluded that:

The results indicate that 46% of the study sample held a media qualification with a frequency of 52 words، which came in first place، and in second place were those who held an arts qualification with about 20 words، with a percentage of 18%، then those with an education qualification، with a percentage of 14%، and applied arts، with a percentage of 9%. And computers and information at a rate of 7% and in the last ranking came others at a rate of 6%، which varied between engineering، medical and other qualifications.
The use of the Internet was the subject most concerned with in the courses taught by the communicator، at a rate of 69%، followed by the study of multimedia production at a rate of 58%، then digital processing at a rate of 50%، and the study of computer applications and software at a rate of 44%، and in fifth place. The study of information technology was equal to digital photography at a rate of 39%، then data editing at a rate of 37%، and in last place came the study of electronic production at a rate of 27%.
The in-depth interview with the officials of the liaison in the Egyptian television under study demonstrated the qualitative difference in the concept of the work of digital technologies in program production among officials and workers of those channels. There is a statistically significant correlation between the increase in the ability of Egyptian television channels and programs to shape and diversify digital technologies and the increase in the rate of respondents towards developing production.
