Abstract

The study aimed to identify the effect of decentralization on improving the performance of employees in Egyptian press institutions, by applying it to" Al'akhbar" institutions, and" Al-Wafd" , and " alyawm alssabie" , on an available sample of journalists and administrators in those institutions, whose strength reached (380) single, in addition to a scientific interview with (26) One of the press and administrative leaders in it, and the study relied on a questionnaire and an in-depth scientific interview to collect study data, during the period from February 1 to May 1, 2020. The study found several results, the most important of which is that a high percentage of 78.7% of the respondents prefer decentralized work because it improves performance and work.
The study also confirmed the lack of knowledge of workers in the press institutions - the subject of study - of the concept of decentralization. The qualitative study on leaders revealed that the concept of decentralization was the least visible in" Al-Wafd" from the rest of the institutions, since it is a party newspaper and this requires some interventions that prevent the decentralization of departments, and "alyawm alssabie" was the most familiar with the concept and the most application of decentralization. The study recommended the necessity of spreading the culture of decentralization in the vicinity of press institutions, and the necessity of restructuring the administrative work at the level of the press institution
