Pre-school children exposure to story channels via “YouTube” and its relationship to their social skills

Abstract

The study aims to examining the relationship between pre-school children’s exposure to storytelling channels through YouTube and identifying their social skills. Which YouTube contains values, contents, and behaviors that contribute to shaping the child's attitudes when interacting with different events and situations in actual real life and his relationship with his social skills. By conducting an analytical study on a sample consisting of (5) story channels via YouTube and a field study On a sample consisting of (200) parents of pre-school children and a focused interview with (25) supervisors and managers of nurseries depending on both the content analysis and questionnaire tools. The results of the research showed the interest of the channels and the study sample about the multiplicity of goals presented in the stories presented to children to provide them with information, knowledge, and skills that are added to their experiences in the framework of entertainment. as it came out that the stories help the child to understand human’s behavior and promote positive trends towards authentic human values, as well as stimulating the child's imagination, enrich his idea, enhance his curiosity, and a lot of social skills. These channels focus on the beautiful three-dimensional animations, songs that embody the daily experiences of pre-school children.
