Speech of international news sites directed at the energy crisis in Europe- Analytical study

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the media discourse of international news
channels sites in Arabic on the issue of the energy crisis in Europe, analyze the ideas and dissertations presented with the contents of those sites, and identify the evidence paths used in the discourse of the sites of the study sample about the crisis, and reveal the active forces contained therein, the roles and the features attributed to it, this study belongs to the descriptive studies, using the survey approach and the systematic comparison tool, based on the theory of Media Framing Analysis. The sample consisted of the contents of the (RT, DW, CNN) sites from (1-9-2022) to (30-11-2022), with a total of 425 articles. The results confirmed: The impact of political trends on media framing, which was reflected in the construction and formulation of theses presented to the public in terms of causes, implications and solutions; Rather, the frameworks used by the sites and paths of argument to clarify and confirm their trends and positions towards the crisis, which ultimately agreed and served the political orientations of the countries that own those sites.
