Abstract

This study aimed to compare Egyptian and International drama regarding their interest in dealing with sustainable development goals and inviting Egyptian drama makers to have an interest in sustainable development goals and to put it as a top priority when creating and producing their dramatic content as a successful way to spread awareness about it. This study belongs to the qualitative studies and depends on the Cognitive priming theory. The sample of the study consisted of 6 Egyptian drama series produced in 2022 and 5 American television series and movies produced between 2017-2023. The movies and television series in this study were analyzed depending on how they dealt with 8 of the sustainable development goals. The most important result was that while there was an intensive presentation of poverty, inequality and low levels of health and education in the Egyptian society in this drama, the American one leveled up to these issues to concentrate on topics related to technology and climate change.
