Proposed Vision for the Role of Educational Media Students in Promoting the Green University Concept from the Academic Elite's Perspective- Field study

Abstract

The research aims to study the proposed role of educational media students in promoting the concept of the green university from the academic elite's point of view and to identify the most important media activities carried out by educational media students to promote the concept of the green university from the elite's point of view. The research relies on the (sample survey) method in its field section, which depends on designing a questionnaire form that covers all research questions. The research was applied to a sample of university professors, which amounted to (173) individuals from professors of media, agriculture and environmental sciences. The research reached a set of results, the most important of which is that the proposed media activities and practices for educational media students to promote the concept of the green university are holding workshops and seminars about the green university in first place with a percentage of (87.86%). The most prominent challenge that hindered educational media students from performing their role was the weak environmental awareness among students in first place with a percentage of (69.94%). Among the most important proposals to promote the concept of the green university is including the concept of the green university in the curricula with a percentage of (87.28%) and providing training programs for educational media students that enhance their knowledge of environmental issues and sustainable environmental concepts in second place with a percentage of (66.47%).
