Academics' attitudes towards the use of cloud computing in educational media and its relationship to the professional performance of specialists

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the trends of academics toward the use of cloud computing in educational media and its relationship to the professional performance of educational media specialists. This study belongs to descriptive studies. The researchers relied on the field survey method through the questionnaire tool, as they relied on a deliberate sample of (200) academics in the various educational media departments in the specific education in Egyptian universities.
The study reached several results, the most important of which are the following:
1- The interest in mental professional performance that the study sample of academics gave to it came from its high availability among specialists through two main skills: (the skill of knowledge of computing applications, and the skill of awareness of cloud computing as a new development).
2- The results of the study revealed a great deal of agreement among the study sample of academics, as most of the sample members confirmed the importance of the availability of professional performance to a great degree among specialists in communication and contact skills.
3-The great interest in personal professional performance that the study sample gave to academics came as the majority of the sample members confirmed the importance of the availability of these skills to a large degree among specialists and their possession of three main skills: (self-learning skills in light of cloud computing, time management and organization skills, critical thinking skills).
4- The trends of the majority of the study sample of academics towards applied technological professional performance agreed on the importance of the availability of these skills to a large degree among specialists and their possession of three main skills: (skill of using cloud computing applications, skill of dealing with computing services, skill of dealing with computing application problems).
5- The results of the study revealed a great deal of agreement among the study sample of academics, as most of the sample members confirmed the importance of the availability of a high degree of professional performance among specialists in employing cloud computing in implementing media activities.
6- The majority of the study sample agreed on adopting technological innovations in developing professional performance among specialists, and their availability to a large degree. The results revealed the existence of four main stages of adoption: the interest stage came first, followed by the experimentation stage, then the awareness stage, and finally the evaluation stage.
