Journal of Mass Communication Research: a scientific journal issued by Al-Azhar University, Faculty of Mass Communication. It is one of the earliest specialized journals in Mass Communication at the level of Egyptian and Arab universities. The first issue was published in October 1993.

It is an accredited journal with an international number and its printed and electronic versions have been internationally classified from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in Cairo.

Also, it was ranked as the first among scientific journals in the media studies sector by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities in 2020, In addition to obtaining seven degrees out of seven according to the classification of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities for the current year 2021. Finally, it is indexed in Clarivate.
